The national tourist boards and the AA have worked together since 2004 to assist accommodation businesses keep pace with changing consumer expectations by adopting nationally agreed and aligned quality standards. The partners now want to review the role of their quality assessment schemes, responding to the proliferation of user-generated online reviews and increasingly sophisticated online booking services. So they have jointly commissioned us to review the schemes to establish their future role and relevance to visitors, businesses and destinations. We’ll be consulting with key industry practitioners, reviewing the research and analysing market trends. We’re aiming to report in June.
