Our new Associate Director

Adam

We’re delighted to announce that Adam Bates has joined Blue Sail as our new Associate Director.  Adam has worked with us on several projects as an associate consultant over the last 12 months, and now we’ve invited him to come aboard full time.

He is looking to expand Blue Sail’s work with conference destinations, convention bureaux and meeting venues, as well as delivering a range of other strategic work for our clients.

Adam brings considerable complementary skills and experience to our crew from his 20+ years working in international tourism – including for Disney and VisitBritain – as well as in local economic development, destination management, service commissioning and organisational change during a decade at the visitor-economy helm in Brighton.

While his knowhow stretches across both leisure and business, Adam is perhaps best known nationally and internationally for his expertise in business tourism, venues and events.  He was Head of Business Tourism for VisitBritain, and directed Brighton’s convention bureau and international conference centre, including major venue redevelopment.

He’s been working for Blue Sail on business tourism projects in Manchester and East London over the last few months, as well as our work giving quality assurance advice to the UK’s national tourist boards and the AA, destination planning projects in Glasgow and Aberdeen, and on our latest tourism development project in the Republic of Ireland.

Blue Sail’s multi-disciplinary teams bring real market advantage to our clients.  Adding Adam’s experience and skills to our team at director level will increase our strategic capacity significantly. (And he’s a jolly nice chap too!)
