Some businesses know they benefit from passing motorway trade but don’t know how to channel and grow that opportunity. So I was interested when a leaflet arrived on my doorstep from The Garden Centre Group offering ‘the perfect alternative to motorway services’.
No mention of plants and flowers but a useful map showing nearly 70 garden centres located close to motorways and major routes across England and Wales. They are all child and dog friendly with disabled access, a restaurant and WiFi; ideal for leisure and business travellers looking for a relaxing stop on a long journey. They have green outdoor spaces, so great if you are travelling with kids that need to let off steam.
The group are clearly making good use of their customer database. I’m a member of one of the garden centres, so no doubt if I redeem the enclosed food discount vouchers, I’ll be helping them track the success of their campaign. You can download the route to your chosen centre onto your satnav too.
