Making events work for North of Tyne

We all know how important events and festivals are to the tourism offer.

Extending our work on destination marketing the new Combined Authority for North of Tyne (Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside) has asked us to look specifically at events and how value can be added to the tourism proposition attracting visitors and spend from outside the region.  A robust business case is an essential requirement to justify future investment, so as well as considering an ambitious and exciting programme drawing on current events as well as new ideas, we will be examining the economic contribution such a programme can make.
