There was an interesting piece in yesterday’s online Guardian by Sam Leith.
He was talking about ‘Historypin’- a way of imposing old photographs on the same current day scene. Like this one of Coventry during the war set into a picture of Coventry now. Apparently it is also possible to set words into pictures. All of this could offer opportunities for destinations to link old with new (always a challenge for historic destinations trying to give a contemporary spin), or tell stories in compelling new ways.
It could offer interactive opportunities too – for visitors to attach their memories or stories to your places bringing them to life.
Food for thought.
