Beside the seaside

We're back on the Isle of Thanet, with its lovely skies and fascinating story.

The Isle of Thanet is in the news at the moment, hosting the UK art world’s most talked-about prize – the Turner Prize. And on the very site where Mr Turner stayed, declaring Thanet’s skies “the loveliest in all Europe” (back then a seafront cottage; now one of our most exciting art galleries, the Turner Contemporary).

We’re back there at the moment – on the very edge of England, almost touching mainland Europe – working with the district council senior management, Thanet’s tourism team, and a group of incredibly committed industry and community partners to develop their new Destination Management Framework. We’re building on the work we did 6 years ago to facilitate Thanet’s first Destination Management Plan and delighted to see the growth in the visitor economy since then.
