A brilliantly simple idea

I used to like getting picture postcards from exotic places, in that innocent age before text msgs and tweets. I didn’t much like sending them though; they seemed an obligation looming over me all week, leading to a panic of trying to buy stamps and find a postbox

So I was amused by a modern version I saw the other day on my long train journey to Penzance. A young guy, who I later discovered was from the Lebanon, was in a Skype video conversation back home. Every few minutes he would turn his laptop with its built-in webcam towards the window to take in the scenery, to which he added his commentary. Brilliantly simple.
