We’re in the final phase of developing a Destination Management Plan (DMP) for Canterbury City. Our work has been steered by a Project Group coordinated by Canterbury City Partnership and including senior people from Canterbury City Council, Visit Kent and Visit Canterbury, leading visitor attractions, hotels, Whitefriars Shopping Centre and the city’s two Universities. We’ve had consultations, workshops and action planning sessions – with input from around 50 stakeholders to help shape the Plan. At its heart is a new Shared Story for the City – a narrative that captures the essence of the place and will guide decisions about investment as well as marketing.
