The Valleys – PR and social media campaign

These days, The Valleys of South Wales are far from being the blighted industrial landscape some people might think. Of course you’d expect their industrial heritage to be outstanding. And it is. But they now also excel in adrenaline sports: mountain biking, walking, road cycling, canyoning, caving, kayaking …

Our job has been to take The Valleys to audiences outside South Wales and help build awareness and interest.

So we’ve done media work and organised press trips (much helped by the publishing of Richard Burton’s diary and the opening of the BikePark Wales new mountain biking centre), worked with the best and brightest businesses in The Valleys, written features and been going a storm on Facebook and Twitter.

We’re particularly targeting families who are independent of outlook and up for adventure. The Valleys is ideal for them. It’s definitely one of those places that has to be experienced to be properly appreciated.
